ABOUT
| (cHI. {Pronounced: Sh-ee} = Dr.) |cHI. Jeion (He-awn) I’m Green (They/Them)
Hi. I'm Jeion Green, a baltimore, md native and a Gender-non-binary, professional artist, photographer, and an award-winning storyteller whose practice centers on autoethnographic art—a methodology that has evolved from earlier foundational self-portraiture into a more expansive inquiry into cultural identity, memory, and lived experiences as primary source material—and operates as Performative Praxis. I am also the founder of Soleath, LLC—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—where art, healing, community, and ambition are not separate things but expressions of one commitment.
My current major arts collection Gesto Apparanthem (New Life) voluntas auctum (will expanded) - is a gathering of in progress, finished, and unfinished, works that speak coherently only when held together. Within this sit, aLucet Feri Vivere - Memento Mori, and Project Ocean Shores, inspired by rocket power - all engaged into a sustained inquiry into will, authority, and representation.
I hold a BFA from Parsons, The New School (New York City), where I pursued studies in Photography, Film, and Performance Art & Theory. I also hold a PhD in Visionary Narrative Architecture & Performative Praxis - a self-conferred doctorate from "Green University" (a university in creation as a part of my 501(C)(3)), in the lineage of practice-as-research scholarship.
I am recognized for producing the Oscar-contending short Tribes, Flesh & Spirit, and Boys Don't Wear Dresses - led entirely by a disabled (Autistic) cast with a majority disabled and diverse crew. Television credits include Black-ish, Career Opportunities in Murder & Mayhem, Snowfall, Reasonable Doubt, The Jennifer Hudson Show, TED the series, and Unstoppable the movie.
I’ve ALso proud to have worked with Sundance Institute's (2018–2019) and returned for their 2023 festival in a different role. As a 2024 & 2025 Disability Belongs Entertainment Lab finalist, I am a proud advocate for LGBTQ+ and disabled communities, and I served on the board of directors for the Baltimore County Art Guild from 2025-2026.
