Notice — please read before proceeding
The materials on this page constitute works of personal artistic expression, performative praxis, and lived documentation. Nothing herein constitutes legal advice, institutional accreditation as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or professional licensure. The Author attests only to what the Author can attest to. You may only attest for yourself.
Do not attempt to apply this framework to fields in which the stakes of unverified practice are bodily, legal, or otherwise consequential — medicine, law, surgery, and their kin. And yet — history confirms — that even in those fields, before institutions existed to certify them, there was only this: a person who knew something, wrote it down, practiced it, lived it, and was trusted. The degree came after the knowledge. The institution came after the practitioner. Take even this disclaimer with a grain of salt.
Official Curriculum — Doctor of Narrative Architecture & Performative Praxis / Ph.D.
Year OneCode-Switching & Self-Performance
| Code | Course |
|---|---|
| GU-101 | Introduction to Code-Switching Learning to turn yourself on and off for different rooms and systems. The gap between the face you show and the self you are. |
| GU-102 | Performance in Front of the Mirror How to rehearse your own becoming. Performing for yourself before performing for anyone else. |
| GU-103 | Being Without Being Seen Existing in rooms not built for you without erasing yourself entirely. The art of occupation under surveillance. |
| GU-104 | The New Kid — Identity Under Pressure Arriving somewhere unfamiliar and constructing a self from available materials. |
Year TwoTransferable Skills & Ground-Level Work
| GU-201 | The Day-to-Day as Classroom Any job you have ever worked is a classroom. Skills extracted from daily labor and their application to creative practice. |
| GU-202 | Boots on the Ground — Industry vs. Reality The gap between what the industry says it is and what it actually requires. Three to four years of fieldwork required. |
| GU-203 | Showing Up — The Discipline of Presence Getting up and going to work even when it is not the work you want yet. Sustained presence as creative discipline. |
| GU-204 | Cross-Field Application How skills learned in one domain translate into creative practice. The myth of irrelevant experience. |
Year ThreeCrisis as Curriculum
| GU-301 | Money Management Under Creative Constraint Making work on your own dime. Budgeting as creative decision-making. What gets made when resources run out and the work still needs to happen. |
| GU-302 | Life Crisis — Advanced Studio Making work while everything else is falling apart. What gets clarified when everything non-essential is removed. |
| GU-303 | The Independent Project — On Your Own Dime Producing a creative project without institutional support or guaranteed outcome. What it costs. What it teaches. |
| GU-304 | Hardship as Methodology How difficulty, loss, and crisis function as generative forces. The curriculum no institution will teach because it requires you to have already survived it. |
Year FourDocumentation, Voice & the Reckoning
| GU-401 | Writing It Down — Documentation as Practice How to name what you have been doing so that others can encounter it. Lived experience into transmissible knowledge. |
| GU-402 | Projecting Forward — Publishing the Unfinished Releasing work before it is complete. Putting out what your research is becoming rather than waiting for it to be finished. |
| GU-403 | Becoming the Doctor — Voice, Authority, Claim Understanding which experiences shaped which ideas. Identifying your own voice — what is yours, what is new, what has not existed before you said it. |
| GU-404 | The Dissertation of Lived Experience — Capstone The archive as thesis. The life as credential. Passing grade: still here. Still making. Still refusing to disappear. |
